Thompson is expecting to reach Big Ticket Gaylord Country at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, June 18. He says growing up in a small town that feels very comfortable playing in places like Gaylord.
"Much of the music is that we (as people) join" he said.
Thompson said he is playing in small communities makes it better to connect with people.
The other half of the duo singing is his wife, Shawna.
"It's very rare to have a married duo singing together" Keifer admitted.
But both appreciate your lifestyle on-the-move that keeps them on the road about 120 days a year.
"It was very big," Keifer said. "We have the opportunity to see the dreams of others come true. There are more pros than cons so this. And I feel more at home on the road than at home."
Thompson said he feels Thompson Square is little different from many of the other bands performing during the three-day festival. They are not considered a Christian group, per se.
"We are Christians who make country music," he clarified.
Being a Christian nonetheless influences in their music.
"We are more careful about what we talked about," Keifer said. "We are not comfortable we doing drinking songs."
He and Shawna want to be here on Wednesday. He said they are especially excited about the motivational speaker Nick Vujicic hearing.
For people Gaylord area, he gave these final words:
"Come see what we are! This is gonna be great!"
